  Vote for my Farm Cake please!

Hi there! I've entered my Farm Cake into a Facebook competition! It's being run by the fabulous Bronnie Bakes. It's just a bit of fun...the prize is more cake making stuff I believe :)

I would be really grateful if you could support me by going to the link below and clicking 'like' on my entry - hopefully you really do like my cake too! I'm wrapped about the support given so far. Thank you to all the voters out there (spoken like a true politican).

Thanks a million xxx

  CakeJournal

Hello there! Sorry I'm not all that active on this blog...Facebook has been my preferred medium to communicate of late. Mind you, I don't really understand Facebook. Sometimes my posts will reach hundreds of people (it used to reach thousands back in the day before FB started clamping down) and other days it will reach less than 100. Anyway, I still like the immediacy of it and I definitely get more comments there.

Anyway, I digress! Just wanted to let you know that you can now find me on the amazing CakeJournal website. I was chosen as one of their new writers! I know, I can't believe it either but I'm really happy about it!

My first tutorial is "How to make a face mold from a doll". I love figurine molding and find it quite tricky without a mold, so I thought this might be useful for readers. All you need to a doll, gum paste, shortening and tylose powder.

Check out CakeJournal if haven't already. I use it all the time myself, as the go-to website for cake decorating tutorials and recipes.

  Sewing Patterms [free}

Hello there! Happy new year to you!

I've decided to upload some of my old sewing patterns online, to share with you all. These patterns are really versatile and great with plain or printed fabrics. They are basic, simple shapes that will never date. Tried and tested time and time again by many customers. Great for beginners. Hope you enjoy them - do send me some pics if you can or upload them to the Ivy Designs Flickr group.

They are available on 4shared. You will need to register to download them.
